In 2009, Zenyatta grabbed the racing world’s attention by becoming the first filly to win the Breeders’ Cup Classic. She went on to win 19 races in her 20 race career, and earned the 2010 Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year. Owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, Zenyatta was retired from racing in 2010 to begin her new career as a mom!
Zenyatta was bred to Bernardini, one of today’s hottest sires. Owned by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Darley Stable, Bernardini won the 2006 Preakness Stakes and was named the Eclipse Award winner for 3 Year Old Male Horse of the Year. The son of A.P. Indy, he sired four Grade (Group) 1 winners in his first foal crop!

The racing world and Queen Z’s fans anxiously awaited the foal’s arrival, reading Zenyatta’s blog for updates and counting down to her due date. On the evening of March 8, 2012, Zenyatta gave birth to a striking dark bay colt!
Unfortunately, Cozmic One's racing career was less than stellar, only earning $5,770 in five starts. However, he has now moved on to a new job: public ambassador! "Coz" has been retrained under saddle as a show jumper by Isabela de Sousa of De Sousa Stables as part of the Retired Racehorse Project, an equine movement dedicated to giving off-the-track Thoroughbreds a second career after their racing days come to an end.
Isabela and Coz placed 5th out of 97 entries in the show jumping division at RRP's annual "Thoroughbred Makeover" challenge in 2018! It's safe to say that this isn't the last we'll see of Cozmic One - his career is only just beginning.
Cozmic One was released by Breyer as "Zenyatta's First Colt" in 2013, before the real foal even had an official name!
