April 2023: Working Western
Welcome back to the 2023 Breyer Photo Show series! April's theme is Working Western, which is self-explanatory - this month, we're looking for photos of your horses working in "western"-style disciplines.
After being carefully reviewed by the judge, Laura Skillern-Sailer, the results of the contest will be pinned 1st through 6th place in each age category and published on BreyerHorses.com on or about May 26th, 2023. One prize will be awarded to our first place winner in each age category: ATP Power (#1870; ERV $51.99).
"Western"-style riding was developed from the traditions and equipment used by equestrians in the American West. Many horses used in this style of riding have been trained to perform certain tasks, such as herding animals, ranching, or simply being a steady and reliable mount for taking care of day-to-day tasks. The Working Western theme highlights these working horses.
As a reminder, please make sure to follow all local, state, and federal mandates regarding health and safety protocols if you will be taking photos in a public area. We want you to stay healthy!
Please remember that figures are not required, but some themes benefit from the addition of them, and the judge will consider the overall scene. If a figure is used, it must be a Breyer figure. All other props, tack and scenery are up to you and your imagination!
HOW TO ENTER:
Create an original scene for Working Western. For this Photo Show, we are looking for entries that show horses working in a Western-style discipline, such as trail riding, roping, or ranch work.
Figures are not required, but some themes benefit from the addition of figures and the judge will consider the overall scene. If a figure is used, it must be a Breyer figure. All other props and scenery are up to you and your imagination!
