New Releases for 2025: Breyer's 75th Anniversary!
It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! It is now 2025, which means it’s also officially Breyer’s 75th anniversary! To kick off our celebrations, we’re so excited to share with you a whole slew of new model releases for 2025. These regular line items can be backordered now here at BreyerHorses.com, and will also be available at your favorite local Breyer retailer.
This is just the tip of the iceberg from our Traditional line – you can see the full range of new 2025 models in our New Products category!
The Breyer 75th Anniversary Assortment brings our celebration to the Traditional line! The sculptures used in this assortment are all celebrating important birthdays of their own. January will see the release of the Western Horse (#B-TR-10323) for his 75th birthday, Lonesome Glory as the Sport Horse (#B-TR-10320) for his 25th birthday, and Esprit as the Spanish Horse (#B-TR-10322) for his 15th birthday. Look closely – those white patterns aren’t just spots. Designed by Chris Jonczak, they’re made up of dozens of tiny Breyer model silhouettes! In addition to these three releases, be on the lookout for two more additions to this assortment for Mid-Year 2025.
Those familiar with the world of Chincoteague Ponies will recognize Surfer’s Riptide (#B-TR-10289), one of the wild stallions roaming free among the herd and son of the beloved stallion Surfer Dude. Made world-famous by Marguerite Henry’s novel, Misty of Chincoteague, Chincoteague Island, Virginia is home to this herd of colorful wild ponies. On the island’s annual “Pony Penning Day,” the herd is swum to the mainland by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company for health checks and to auction off foals to support the herd’s ongoing care. A portion of the proceeds from each Riptide model will also benefit the CVFC, along with the Museum of Chincoteague.
The Ideal Series continues with its sixth model in the series: The Ideal Series – Buckskin (#B-TR-10248)! Inspired by the art of Western artist Orren Mixer and his famed "Ideal" horse paintings, this model is created in the likeness of “The Buckskin,” a painting commissioned by the International Buckskin Horse Association in 1996. The IBHA is the largest registry in the world for horses of any breed that are buckskin in color. The original painting is currently displayed at the AQHA Heritage Center and Museum in Amarillo, TX.
30 years ago, a very special foal was born in the Pryor Mountains of Montana. Cloud (#B-TR-10306) would go on to be the star of three documentaries for PBS’s Nature and become an ambassador for wild horses everywhere. The chronicles of Cloud and his family highlighted the perils and controversies facing wild horses in the United States, and led director Ginger Kathrens to found The Cloud Foundation, which advocates for the protection and preservation of wild horses and burros. This 30th anniversary edition of Cloud will bring the iconic stallion to a whole new generation of Breyer herds.
We celebrate another anniversary with Big Lex (#B-TR-10307): the 250th anniversary of the “Horse Capitol of the World,” Lexington, Kentucky! Home of BreyerFest and the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington is paradise for any horse lover. One of the images you will see throughout the city is "Big Lex" – a blue-tinted adaptation of an oil painting by Edward Troye of the real-life Thoroughbred stallion, Lexington, that has become a symbol of the city. We’re excited to bring this icon to the Traditional line-up!
Fans of the American Quarter Horse will undoubtedly know the significance behind the AQHA 85th Anniversary Best Remuda Model (#B-TR-10343). The American Quarter Horse Association bestows its “Best Remuda Award” upon ranches that have made a significant contribution to the American Quarter Horse breed. This silver trophy-like model is decorated with brands of various Best Remuda Award-winning ranches from across the United States and celebrates the 85th anniversary of the AQHA.
We are also excited to welcome cattle back to the regular line with the introduction of the Texas Longhorn Bull (#B-TR-10329)! Longhorns originated in the United States from stock imported from Spanish and English origins. As settlers moved in to ranch the hot, humid land of what is now south Texas, they found the Longhorn to be perfectly adapted to the rugged conditions. This model is decorated in a shade of red which is commonly found within the breed.
A model available exclusively at Breyer Flagship retailers, Ophelia (#B-TR-10434), will also be available this spring. If you'd like to add this beautiful dun Tennessee Walking Horse Mare to your collection, reach out to your favorite local Breyer retailer! Flagship models can only be purchased in-person at their stores.
This Halloween, prepare for the arrival of Arachne (#B-TR-10344)! While this mare may look like a simple appaloosa at a distance, dare to get closer and you’ll find that her “blanket” is actually two large spiders on the prowl, pursing a moth and firefly respectively. Arachne features green eyes, a green colorshift coat, a black widow marking on her face, and a glow-in-the-dark base to complete her spooky look! Available summer/fall 2025.
If the festive season is more your scene, we’re sure you’ll find our 2025 Holiday Horse, Christmas in Bloom (#B-HP-10222), delightful. 29th in the series, this dark grey sporthorse is bedecked in green velvet, snowflakes, and hellebore flowers, also known as “Christmas Roses.” He’s ready to ring in the holiday spirit! Available fall/winter 2025.
This is just the beginning of our new 2025 offerings – we also have plenty of new additions in Freedom Series, Stablemates and more, including more special editions for our 75th anniversary. Explore the whole collection in our “New Products” category!
