Hobby Information at BreyerFest 2025!

Last week, we mentioned that some of the hobby-related tables that have traditionally been located in the Hands-on Hobby Tent at BreyerFest will be moving to the concourse of the Covered Arena in 2025 to be a part of the expanded Breyer experience for our anniversary celebration. 

We will have hobby experts on hand to talk about all areas of the model horse hobby and Breyer history. From the famous “painting stages” display to iconic models from Breyer’s lineup, our volunteers possess a wealth of hobby knowledge and are eager to talk with guests. Bring your questions!

If you’re looking for a more hands-on experience, for 2025 we are co-locating the hobby demonstrations from the Hands-on Hobby Tent with our Craft Tent in two huge tents in the Walnut Schooling Ring –  and we’re amping things up! In addition to the incredible hobby volunteers we will have on hand to teach visitors about subjects like tack making, finishwork, performance showing, and more, we will also have some fun and interactive model horse showing activities going on!

New to the world of model horse showing?  Our Mini Mock Model Horse Show is a great way to get your hooves wet! We'll have mentors who are excited to show you the ropes, teach you how to place models in classes, provide you with tons of information about this fun part of the model horse hobby all weekend long. You can bring your own models to “show” or pick from our box of loaner ponies, and our mentors will walk you through the basics. 

New for 2025, we also have the incredible Anne Field offering a clinic on judging! This clinic will be free to participate in, like our other activities in the Hands-on Hobby Tent, but will require pre-registration as it will be a scheduled activity and limited in space. In this two-hour session taking place each day of BreyerFest weekend, Anne will teach participants what she looks for when judging classes, show students what a performance class looks like set up in the show ring, and will walk students through the process of judging.
