BreyerWest isn’t on sale just yet (there are still a few weeks to go) but we are just too excited about these workshop offerings to keep them secret any longer!
All workshops will be taking place Saturday, March 16th in the BreyerWest area at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo and their times will be announced soon, but here’s a taste of what’s to come –
Creating Holo Horses If you weren’t one of the lucky few who registered for Shauna’s Rainbow Holo Pony Party workshop at BreyerFest this past summer, you’ve got another chance to get sparkly with Shauna this spring in Denver! Kicking off Saturday morning at BreyerWest, Shauna will be sprinkling holo dust on just about everything in this fun workshop that encourages participants to get creative with color! Best known for her zany creations and glitter infused finish work, Canadian artist Shauna McDaniel will walk students through this fun finishwork project! Using a few straightforward techniques, participants will create magical, glittering, ponies featuring bright metallic colors and holographic highlights on their very own model. This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels. |

Southwestern Themed Performance Base Performance and prop making expert Sandy Sanderson will teach attendees how to construct a durable, lightweight Traditional scale base for model horse performance showing, or just a footing to show off your model on the shelf. Get ready to dig into some Plaster of Paris to shape the contour of this versatile setting. Then, paint and some miniature landscaping will be added to bring your desert scene to life! This session is great for all skill levels to participate in. |

Sculpting the Equine Head – a two-part sculpting intensive Sculpting icon Morgen Kilbourn is bringing fans the first ever BreyerWest two-part workshop that will take place Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Registration for this session automatically enrolls you in both parts. This intensive will cover all the aspects of sculpting a horse’s head. On day one, Morgen will walk participants through the basics of anatomy while sculpting equine head. On day two, the class will add intricacies to their sculpts like facial details, expressions, and work on those tricky ears! Morgen will cast miniature horse skulls that will be provided for participants to work on. This workshop is great for experienced sculptors and beginners as well. |

Bones, Brushes & Blacklights Jenn Constantine, known for her supernatural skeletal Spook medallions, paintings, and customs, will introduce participants to the basics of the equine skeleton, the science of UV paints, and using those paints under blacklights to create their own Spook on a Breyer model! This class is beginner friendly but offers plenty to do for more experienced artists as well. |

Customizing a Trace Clip Equine Artist Angelo Zunic specializes in sculpting manes, tails, and trace clips. In this class, participants will work with Apoxie Sculpt and various tools to learn how to translate body clips into miniature form and give the fur dimension. Using reference for patterns specific to various disciplines students can transform their Breyer into a fun, fuzzy horse! This workshop is open to all ages and skill levels. |
Registrations for BreyerWest will be on sale in mid-November, but keep your eyes on the BreyerWest Blog in the coming weeks for more information and fun reveals!
