This Year’s Portrait Horses - BreyerFest 2025

We are thrilled to be able to welcome our newest Breyer family members: our 2025 Limited Edition portrait horses, and portrait horses from the current Breyer Traditional line. Attendees can meet these horses at BreyerFest and purchase their models in the BreyerFest Store. These talented horses are excited to meet new friends and help celebrate Breyer’s 75th anniversary!

2025 BreyerFest Celebration Horse - Tight Lines

It takes a special horse with a lot of grit, athleticism, and heart to complete a dressage test, cross-country course, and stadium jumping round over three days. One such eventer celebrated for his elite performance over the years is the French Thoroughbred Tight Lines.

“Phish”, as he is better known in the barn, is owned by the Conair Syndicate and has helped Olympic Eventer, Will Coleman, succeed at some of the most well-known 5* eventing competitions in the world. The now 18-year-old flea-bitten grey started life out as a Steeplechaser in France. Will saw that the easy-going gelding had upper-level eventing promise and brought him to America. Working their way up the levels, Phish tackled some of the toughest competitions earning top placings including wins at the National 3* and 4* Championships at Fair Hill International!

In true thoroughbred fashion, Phish loves to run and really shined on the cross-country course, with his animated gallop and willingness to tackle any obstacle in his path. To Will, Phish is his ultimate horse, the one who helped propel him to the top of the sport. While Phish has now stepped down from the bigger events, he still enjoys being one of Will’s favorites in the barn. So, here’s to you Phish! Cheers!

BreyerFest attendees will be able to meet this charming champion and his rider Will Coleman at BreyerFest, July 11-13, 2025.

Belesema Sapphire

Belesema Sapphire

Endurance riding tests the horse’s ability to cover long distances over varying terrain, altitude, and weather. It not only tests the horse’s fitness and stamina, but the connection and trust between horse and rider. Meg Sleeper met Belesema Sapphire, a chestnut Arabian mare, when the horse’s previous owner could no longer keep her. After just a few months of training and getting to know the sensitive mare, Meg discovered she was talented, but very herd-bound and lacked confidence in herself and rider, which caused her to act out.

Meg decided that it would be best for Sapphire if she was only ridden by one person so she could learn to trust her rider. The pair went to work and trained by themselves on the trails, rarely joining group rides. These many hours spent alone helped fortify trust between Sapphire and Meg and they became a true team. Sapphire, now 13-years-old, is a force to be reckoned with on the trails, and her accomplishments include 1st place for the AERC National 100 Mile Award and National Best Condition Award and she was the 2023 Arabian Horse Association 100 Mile Award recipient.

Megs sums up what working with Sapphire means to her best by saying, “I feel honored that she considers me worthy… when you are both enjoying – indeed loving – the experience, there is nothing you can’t accomplish.” Sapphire and Meg’s trust and bond with each other is truly something to celebrate! BreyerFest attendees will be able to meet this long-distance champion this summer at BreyerFest!

Halcyonia Night Life

Halcyonia Night Life

Emilia Quaggiotto, wanting to change directions in the horse industry, took a chance and bought a black Welsh Cob colt with one half blue eye after looking at just one photo. While she normally would never buy a horse without seeing it first, she had a feeling that the gangly colt, known as Halcyonia Night Life, was going to be special.

Ace, as he is known in the barn, started off by driving and showing in-hand. Once he was ready, he started dressage training. This talented 5-year-old stallion “aced” everything that was thrown his way! In his growing career, Ace has won top placings in Welsh Breed Shows in Canada and US for in-hand, driving, and riding. He was 2023 USEF National Horse of the Year in Welsh English Pleasure. In dressage, he has won multiple blue and red ribbons, scoring above 70%, Reserve Champion in the 4-year-old Futurity, and Reserve Champion stallion in the Open Sport Pony Breed show at the 2024 National Dressage Pony Cup.

Although Ace is young, he is proving how versatile he is by competing and placing in multiple disciplines against older, bigger horses. Along with his winning ways in the show ring, this up-and-coming stallion has a winning personality and temperament. Ace is approved Westfalen and working towards other breed approvals. Emilia, Ace, and his team have much to celebrate as this super stallion starts to pass on his versatility, athleticism, good looks, and perfect temperament to the next generation of sport ponies! BreyerFest attendees will be able to me this consummate Casanova at BreyerFest.

Sharee Schwartzenberger riding Game Day Surprise

Game Day Surprise

Freestyle reining combines the precision and technicality of reining maneuvers with music and choreography. To harmoniously pull off all aspects of a great freestyle it takes a special connection between horse and rider. One horse who has made big waves in the world of freestyle reining is the 2008 buckskin gelding, Game Day Surprise.

Sharee Schwartzenberger met Eli, as he is known in the barn, as a 2-year-old and knew there was something special about him. He was athletic, learned quickly, and was very levelheaded, which are all qualities Sharee looks for in her freestyle horses. After some early competitions, the two clicked and became a force to be reckoned with in the ring. Some of Eli’s many accomplishments include being the top freestyle earner in the world, winning the 2020 25th Anniversary Ram Invitational Freestyle Championship as well as being reserve champion in 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2024. Eli was born to be in the spotlight; he knows when it's game time and lets his personality shine.

On top of having fun costumes, catchy music, and technical maneuvers Sharee and Eli are known for doing almost all their performances bridleless. The pair’s connection is so seamless, spectators have watched their routines only to realize Eli was brideless at the end! Their trust in each other allows this dynamic pair to dance flawlessly and in harmony under the lights. With Eli still performing at 17 years old it is a true testament to their commitment to each other and is something to be celebrated! BreyerFest attendees can meet this talented dancing duo at BreyerFest!

Real life Beau N' Arrow with trainer and rider

Beau N' Arrow

Vaulting, commonly described as gymnastics on horseback, can be shown as teams, pairs, or individual where competitors are judged on the ability to smoothly perform movements all while demonstrating flexibility, strength, balance, and artistic expression. The horse is an integral part to a vaulting squad, and it takes one who is consistent in their gate and can ignore all the commotion going on around and on them to help the team shine. Beau’ N Arrow, a 17-year-old Spotted Draft Horse gelding, has all those qualities and more making him an exemplary vaulting horse!

Beau came to Trisha Bowman of Muddy Creek Vaulters with limited training. Trisha started training Beau as an all-around riding horse then introduced vaulting. Beau took to walking and trotting on the lunge line easily, it was the canter that was more difficult for him. After years spent getting him comfortable at the canter something finally clicked, and Beau has been the squad’s main and best cantering horse since! Beau has carried his squad to many accolades including Overall Reserve Champion at the 2022 USEF/AVA Nationals and even claimed the USEF National High Point C-Squad Horse of the year!

His easy-going nature and friendly disposition makes him a favorite for beginners and advanced vaulters alike. He is always ready to step up to the plate and help carry his squad to a win. For a horse that carries and lifts so many up, it’s time to celebrate Beau and all he has done for his squad! BreyerFest attendees can meet Beau and his entire squad at BreyerFest!

A rotating .gif of Chincoteague Pony Drill Team in front of a stable and Surfer's Riptide

Chincoteague Pony Drill Team | Surfer's Riptide

Started in 1996, the Chincoteague Pony Drill Team is the only one of its kind in the world - an equine drill team composed entirely of Chincoteague Ponies. The ponies on the team are veterans of the swim, including some descendants of Misty. The team demonstrates Equine Drill, which is a set of choreographed movements on horseback set to music. The team performs with as few as three and up to ten riders.

Under the direction of Coach Kendy Allen, the drill team has made appearances at many big venues, including Fair Hill Five Star Eventing Championship, the Virginia Inaugural Governor’s Parade, the Kentucky Horse Park, Equitana USA, the Viriginia State Fair, the Delaware State Horse Show, the Washington DC National Horse Show, and the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, as well as appearing on NBC, CBS, and ABC television. They have won numerous awards from local parades and have been named the Youth World Champions at Equitana 2000. The team is excited to add BreyerFest to their resume!

The ponies are all part of the Allen Family Chincoteague Pony herd. The family farm project began in 1987 when they acquired their first Chincoteague Pony, Misty II, the granddaughter of Misty and daughter of Stormy. Taking on the project of turning a 13-year-old ungentled pony to a show pony proved easier than they thought and Misty II went on to become a champion pony in her own right, as well as a representative of the breed. In 1996 Breyer made a set of models of Misty II and her daughters, Misty’s Black Mist and Misty’s MayDay Twister.

Some ponies who are not directly related to Misty are "veterans of the swim,” meaning that either they or their parents were wild ponies that came from Assateague and were bought at the famous Pony Swim auction held by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company. In fact, one of the ponies planning to be at BreyerFest, Chincoteague Surf ‘n Turf, is related to recent Breyer release, Surfer’s Riptide! Since the real Surfer’s Riptide is a wild stallion who cannot attend BreyerFest, we are excited to have the Chincoteague Drill Team to the event so fans can learn more about the amazing Chincoteague breed and meet descendants of Surfer’s Riptide and Misty!
The team’s drills, routines, and shows may change over the years, but their message is always the same: the Chincoteague Pony is a very special horse that deserves its place in the equine world. A nonprofit group, they travel and perform on support from the public.

Rain

Rain

Meet Rain, a unique Pryor Mountain Mustang. A direct descendant of the Conquistadors' horses, she was discovered as a foal by Ginger Kathrens of The Cloud Foundation in May 2007. Born in the wild, Rain is the daughter of the famous stallion, Cloud. Rain exemplifies the ideal Spanish horse with her short back, low tail setting, and beautifully tapered head. Her distinctive roan coloring sets her apart from other horses, turning almost completely white with the changing seasons.

After being rounded up by the Bureau of Land Management in 2009, Rain was put up for adoption at just two years old. Lisa Friday successfully bid for her and brought her to her forever home in Virginia, where she now lives with five other Pryor Mountain Mustangs, including other Cloud descendants.

Rain is featured in the third "Cloud" book and movie, Cloud, Challenge of the Stallions. She is semi-retired from trail riding and is now beginning liberty work, exploring new bonds and techniques in a more expressive manner. Rain has appeared in a Dasani commercial chugging a bottle of water, and has been a star at various events, including the Virginia Equine Extravaganza and several Mustang presentations at the home of Secretariat in Virginia.

In honor of the new Cloud 30th Anniversary model, we wanted BreyerFest fans to meet a Mustang. And not just any Mustang – a daughter of Cloud who ran free with him in the Pryor Mountains in the beginning of her life! Rain and Lisa Friday are excited to meet everyone this summer.

Hytyme Legend

Hytyme Legend

When your duties include patrolling over 1,200 acres of the horse capital of the world, of course you do it from horseback! The Kentucky Horse Park’s Mounted Police team does everything from security checks and greeting the public, to writing citations and directing traffic – all from the saddle. Naturally, the officers need safe, level-headed mounts that are also great with people. Meet Legend, the KHP’s newest and youngest equine officer! He joined the team in 2021 and is partnered with Officer Rakow. Mounted Unit Commander Captain Rakes shares that Legend is “calm, levelheaded and has a kind disposition which makes him a great ambassador to the Kentucky Horse Park.”

Legend is a Drum Horse, with his lineage being a mix of Clydesdale, Shire, and Gypsy Vanner.
