The red kangaroo is the largest of all kangaroos, the largest terrestrial mammal native to Australia, and the largest extant marsupial. It is found across mainland Australia. This species is a very large kangaroo with long, pointed ears and a square shaped muzzle. Red kangaroos typically live in groups of 2-4 members.

The females kangaroo have the unusual ability to delay birth of their baby until their previous Joey has left the pouch.
