Special Run and Limited Edition Reveals!

2023 Special Run and Limited Edition Reveals!

Now that the proverbial (and literal) dust from BreyerFest has settled, fans might have seen that Breyer snuck in a few surprises to this year’s Special Run and Limited Edition model lineup.  We love a good surprise here at HQ!

If you brought home that adorable mare and foal pair, Surrey & Axle, you might have noticed that we snuck in a variation for cute little Axle – this adorable blanket appaloosa foal was a 50/50 split between the Action Stock Horse Foal mold (#235) and the Standing Stock Horse Foal mold (#228)!

Fan-favorite Wells, created on the loose mane version of Shannondell in a handsome silver dapple black, was this year’s 50/50 matte and glossy split. We think he looks dashing in either finish!

You might have guessed that the name for this year’s Fell Pony, Scurry, was a clue at a possible variation! Scurry driving is a fast-paced sport where a pair of ponies pulls a cart across a course, so we had to give fans a fun pair of this model in two colorways! Scurry was done as a 50/50 split in both red bay tobiano and perlino tobiano!

We were wowed when we learned about the Jump & Drive event hosted in Aachen, so to give our Jump & Drive model a bit more of a “wow factor” for fans, we did this already handsome glossy sooty buckskin splash pinto on the Bristol mold as a 50/50 mane and tail split. Half of this model had the loose mane and tail, and half had the braided mane and tail.

The handsome Speos really shook things up for fans when folks discovered this variation!  Only 10% of this handsome model was done in a stunning red and black colorshift decorator finish, for a total of 240 pieces!

The beautiful Araba was also done as a micro-run variation! 10% of this stunning model – 240 pieces – was done as a beautiful rose grey sabino pinto, which we fell in love with here at HQ.

And finally, for our last Special Run reveal, the adorable Peanutine!  This cute spotted donkey stole everyone’s hearts at this year’s BreyerFest, and we thought it would be fun to include a fun decorator variation! 10% of the run was done in a stunning rose/green/gold colorshift that really makes him shine – a total of 200 pieces!

For fans who purchased our online-only Limited Edition models Studebaker and Buggy, we revealed BreyerFest weekend that we created fun variations of these models, too!  Which one did you get? Only 10% of each run was done as the variation! A total of 250 pearly blue/purple colorshift tobiano pinto Studebakers were created and just 200 pearly gold glossy Buggy models were made!

Check back on the BreyerFest Blog tomorrow when we reveal this year’s Stagecoach Surprise variation breakdown!

I got the glossy Wells and the blue/white Studebaker!!! I am beyond thrilled and love these variations so much! Thank you Breyer for these beautiful horses and for my favorite event of the year, Breyerfest!

I feel bad for the person who wanted the bay scurry and kept on getting a perlino. I walk in the line just once not knowing the variations and I get the bay, which is of course the variation I wanted originally!! LOL! Plus, I am so happy that I got a glossy Wells. I don’t know why, but to me greys and dark horses always seem prettier in gloss, it just brings out the color more. But I am still on Team Matte for the most part! Only a few molds I like in glossy! lol.

First time going thru Breyerfest. I made up for all the childhood Breyer’s my mother gave away! Braided jumper was a perfect fit for me! And being from NH. I chose Peanutine, for the ‘Maine’ connection. I got the PURPLE Peanutine. I love him!!!!

I love the fun of the variation surprises on all the models for Breyerfest, but sometimes we all have our hearts set on a certain model SR or LR for the Breyerfest releases. I had that happen for Breyerfest Horse of a Different Color. I had gotten selected to purchase Pollock, was so excited loved the original color variation. I just couldn’t wait for the model to come, well the box from Breyer arrived. I was supposed to call my sister, but it was late. So I just thought I’d take a peek and wait till the next day. HaHa! I opened the box and then took out the bubble wrapped model, well I couldn’t tell if the model was the original version. So I thought I’ll just go by the kitchen stove light and hold the bubble wrapped Breyer model in the extra lighting, there seemed to be no bright colors, just a brownish painted model. I couldn’t believe it it was probably the GOLD variation. I did open it up that night and it was the gold Pollock. I was stunned for a moment. I am truly enjoying the gold model, but am still on the hunt for a reasonably priced rainbow colored Pollock. Moral of the story, Breyer you need to give Breyerfest guests a heads up on the surprises. Give guests the choice of the surprise variation on SR and LR if they chose to do that. Keep the Surprise Breyer SR for sure. Loved all the Models this year and the coat colors and patterns. I got Bravo 54 as a gift; spot on, you certainly captured his spirit, he is beautiful.

I absolutely love that everything has variations! It makes it so exciting to not know what your getting. I participated online and ended up getting both the Blue Studebaker and the palomino. For the surprise model I got the matte chestnut. I’m hoping that I’ll have an opportunity to participate in a second chance sale if you guys do it this year

I attended Virtually so I was picked for only one special run. I got the Stagecoach Surprise, but after I heard it was on the Hamilton mold, I wish I got picked for Wells. Trying to get him second hand but he was so popular, it’s gonna be hard.

LOVE all the models. It is fun not knowing about the variations until the first day at BreyerFest.

Other than the surprise models it would be nice to just have the models shown and end all the variations.

Rachael - July 27, 2023

It took me 4 trips through the line (and buying an extra ticket at the window) just to get the original bay Scurry on my last try. Really wanted the bay but kept pulling the perlino.

Ava - July 27, 2023

I got the shiny wells and my sister got the light colored scurry-we were so confused! XD Now we know!
