Meet our second Special Run Model for this year’s Celtic Fling – Oak!

We know you were just recently introduced to the Rhennish Draft mold (#803) as Georg, the third release for the Premier Club this past fall, which was sculpted by Brigitte Eberl. We think you’ll love him just as much in this stunning version we’ve created just for BreyerFest – he’s presented as a Noriker done in a bay semi-leopard varnish appaloosa.

 

Oak trees feature prominently in Celtic mythology – they are an aspect of a magical trilogy of trees related to fairy lore.  Their use in sacred rituals dates back to the First Century, when Pliny the Elder described their incorporation into fertility rites performed by ancient Druids, and Celtic Britons under Roman rule worshiped Daron, the goddess of the oak tree.  Even the town of Kildare finds its roots in that of the oak tree – Cill Dara is Irish for “church of the oak.”

I still have not opened my Georg, because I knew I would love him and want to keep him. Now you knock one out of the park with Oak. I suppose Georg will be staying with me and I will be coming to BF this year for Oak and maybe a few others. Here I am selling off several of my congas’ because I need to downsize. You just keep dangling that carrot in front of my nose. This will be my first conga since last BF with Hal and of course Dundee.(LOL). Keep up the great work Breyer.
