The Hands-on Hobby Tent at BreyerFest is a great way to introduce yourself to the model horse hobby if you’re new!
For 2025, we are co-locating this tent with our Craft Tent in the Walnut Schooling Ring and we’re amping things up! In addition to the incredible hobby volunteers we will have on hand to teach visitors about things like tack making, finishwork, performance, and more, we will also have some fun and interactive model horse showing activities going on!
New to the world of model horse showing? Our Mini Mock Model Horse Show is a great way to get your hooves wet! We’ve got mentors all weekend long who are excited to show you the ropes, teach you how to place models in classes, provide you with tons of information about this fun part of the model horse hobby. You can bring your own models to “show” or pick from our box of loaner ponies, and our mentors will walk you through the basics.

And new for 2025, we’ve also got the incredible Anne Field offering a clinic on judging! This clinic will be free to participate in, like our other activities in the Hands-on Hobby Tent, but will require pre-registration since it will be a scheduled activity and limited in space. In this two-hour session, taking place each day of BreyerFest weekend, Anne will teach participants what she looks for when judging classes, show students what a performance class looks like set up in the show ring, and will walk students through the process of judging.
