Breyer Clubs: A Beginner's Guide

It’s the end of the year, which means that it’s the season for Breyer club signups! We know that the sheer number of club offerings can be confusing for those who are new to the world of Breyer, so we have put together this handy beginner’s guide to hopefully answer your biggest questions. Let’s get started!

Part I: Collector Club

The Breyer Collector Club is your gateway to the world of Breyer! A 2021 Collector Club membership is required to join any of our 2021 specialty clubs, which we will discuss momentarily. A Collector Club membership includes access to all benefits for a calendar year (i.e. access will end on December 31^st, 2021 regardless of the exact date purchased).

Being a Collector Club member has tons of benefits – you can view an entire list here, but here are some of the highlights:

• Monthly e-newsletter
• Early access to limited edition Breyer releases and exclusive offers

In 2020, we began offering a special version of the Collector Club known as the Deluxe Collector Club. The special benefits of the Deluxe Collector Club are identical to those found in the standard Collector Club, but this membership also includes an exclusive Stablemates model only available to members of the Deluxe club. This model will be shipped to you at the end of 2021, at no additional charge.

You will notice that there are two additional sub-categories of Collector Club memberships: New Membership and Renewal. If you would like to start receiving Collector Club membership benefits immediately, choose a “New Membership.” This option includes access to all Collector Club benefits through the remainder of 2020, in addition to the entire year of 2021. If you’d prefer to wait to start receiving your benefits until January 1^st, 2021, choose the “Renewal” option.

Who can join and when? Anyone can join either version of the Collector Club! Membership for the standard Collector Club is available year-round, and membership for the 2021 Deluxe Collector Club closes on March 1^st, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST. Be sure to create a BreyerHorses.com account before purchasing a membership – this is the account that your membership will be attached to!

Is membership limited? No. Anyone can join the Collector Club at any time, and anyone can join the Deluxe Collector Club until March 1^st, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST.

How much does it cost to join? Membership costs start at $25 for a standard Collector Club renewal. Deluxe Collector Club memberships start at $55, and prices increase slightly if you are looking for a 2020/2021 (new) membership and/or have an international (outside of USA) shipping address. Are there purchase obligations beyond my membership fee? No. Collector Club members will have many offerings presented to them throughout the year, but you are not obligated to purchase any of these items to maintain your membership.

Part II: Specialty Clubs

Breyer’s “specialty clubs” focus in on a special interest within the world of Breyer. These clubs are the first place that you can find a majority of Breyer’s newest sculptures, and all models released through these clubs are members-only exclusives! As a reminder, you will need to purchase a 2021 Collector Club membership before you are able to purchase a deposit for any 2021 specialty club(s).

Premier Club



The Premier Collection is a celebration of the artistry of Breyer, and these exquisite models are only available with a Premier Club membership. Each year, the Premier Club debuts three brand-new Traditional scale sculptures for the Breyer lineup, and members are the first to have these sculptures in-hand! Each release is also painted in an exclusive colorway, never to be released outside of the club. Models produced as part of the Premier Collection have extreme attention to detail, including extra-special touches such as dapples, mapping, and handpainted tri-eyes. Breyer works with the model horse hobby’s most talented painters and sculptors to bring these amazing new models to life.

Each Premier Collection model is packaged in a full-color gift box with an embroidered faux-suede bag, and includes a certificate of authenticity. Plus, members who have maintained their membership obligations also receive a FREE Stablemates model at the end of the year – also the debut of a brand-new sculpture!

Who can join and when? Any member of the 2021 Collector Club can join the Premier Club. Collector Club members can join the club here any time before the deadline of December 31^st, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. Membership will not reopen after this deadline, and you will not have another chance to join the club until the 2022 edition.

Is membership limited? No. Any 2021 Collector Club member can join the Premier Club until the deadline of December 31^st, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. Please note that only one Premier Club membership can be purchased per account.

How much does it cost to join? A $100 deposit is required to join, and the three releases cost $175 each. Your deposit will be applied evenly to each of the three releases, for a total of $141.66 each (plus shipping and handling) at checkout. Premier Collection models are typically released in the summer, fall, and winter (approx. May, August, and November 2021).

How many models are released as part of the club? There will be three Traditional scale releases, plus an additional FREE Stablemates model for those who maintain their membership.

Are there purchase obligations beyond my deposit? Yes. The Premier Club is a “continuity club” – by signing up for the club, you are agreeing to purchase all three of the 2021 club models. Failure to do so will result in you being removed from the Premier Club for 2021. You will no longer be eligible for any club benefits and will forfeit your deposit, the ability to purchase any future club releases for 2021 (if applicable), and your free Stablemates model.

Stablemates Club



Good things come in small packages, and Stablemates are one of those things! The Stablemates Club is perfect for fans of Breyer’s beloved 1:32 scale models, or anyone who is looking to get their feet wet in the world of Breyer specialty clubs. Small but mighty, each of these releases is painted with the same care and attention to detail as our Traditional scale models. Here are some examples of different kinds of models you can find in the Stablemates Club:

• Models with a glossy/matte split finish (sent at random!)
• A fresh new color on a “G1” (vintage) Stablemates sculpture
• “Gambler’s choice” model (multiple color possibilities on a single sculpture – the exact color you’ll receive is a surprise!)
• Brand new Stablemates scale sculpture, with a first release only available to Stablemates Club members

Each Stablemates Club model is packaged in fresh, new packaging for 2021 – a bright and bold “hat box!” In total, there will be six Stablemates Club models released throughout the year, on approximately a bi-monthly basis. Members will also have the option to purchase an additional 7^th bonus model at the end of 2021.

Who can join and when? Any member of the 2021 Collector Club can join the Stablemates Club. Collector Club members can join the club here any time before the deadline of December 31^st, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. Stablemates Club models are typically released on a bi-monthly basis, starting in February 2021. The 7^th bonus model in the Stablemates Club is optional, and will be released alongside the 6^th and final release. This model will cost $20 at checkout, because your deposit is not applied towards it.

Are you an international (outside of USA) Breyer fan? We have a special version of the Stablemates Club just for you! Click here to join the International Stablemates Club, which will help you save money on shipping costs. Instead of six separate shipments, your models will be consolidated into two shipments – one of the first three releases, and one of the last three releases (plus the 7^th bonus model, if desired). These shipments will be sent in approximately June and December 2021.

Vintage Club

The Vintage Club is the perfect specialty club for anyone with an appreciation for Breyer’s rich history. With over 70 years of models to draw inspiration from, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the Vintage Club! Each year’s lineup is a combination of vintage sculptures with vintage paintjobs, modern sculptures with vintage paintjobs, and vintage sculptures with modern paintjobs. We continue to experiment each year with fun new ways to keep the club fresh, such as a recreation of a full 1950s “grooming kit” that was originally found with some of our Western Horse and Pony models!

The Vintage Club offers four different models released throughout the year, plus an optional 5^th model that members can purchase if they wish. Each of these models is packaged in a full-color retro box inspired by one of the many styles of Breyer packaging that have circulated over the years, plus a booklet with relevant Breyer history and fun facts that also doubles as the model’s certificate of authenticity.

The 2021 Vintage Club is the only Breyer specialty club with a membership limit – the club is limited to 500 memberships total. Each Vintage Club member is assigned their own membership number, which is handwritten on the certificate of authenticity for each of their models. Members who fully maintain their membership will also receive a FREE bonus Stablemates model at the end of the year, exclusive to the Vintage Club!

Who can join and when? The 2021 Vintage Club is limited to 500 memberships total. Memberships are now sold out. 2021 Collector Club members can sign up for the waitlist here if interested in doing so.

The 5^th bonus model in the Vintage Club is optional, and will be labeled as the “Vintage Club Special Run.” This model will cost $135 at checkout, because your deposit is not applied towards it.
