BreyerFest: Against All Odds

BreyerFest: Against All Odds

BreyerFest is many things to many people. Here at HQ, BreyerFest is a celebration of the real horses that inspire the models we make and connecting fans with those horses, both real and plastic. And next year’s celebration has been particularly inspirational, especially for the Events Team.

The idea for next year’s theme had been bubbling away on the back burner for some time, just waiting for its moment to shine and shine it has. With more than a dozen contenders vying to be the coveted Celebration Horse model and Limited Edition portrait horses, next year’s lineup of guest horses was carefully narrowed down and is so inspirational we joked about having to sell tissues as a part of the event swag!

It’s no secret to any of our readers and fans that horses are truly special creatures, capable of being silly, having strong (often stubborn) opinions, and surviving even the harshest of conditions. From tragic tales of abandonment, abuse, or neglect to awe-inspiring stories of overcoming adversity, defying expectations, and smashing the status quo, next year’s event hopes to highlight the stories of just a few of the many incredible horses that have survived and succeeded – Against All Odds.

Inspired by our Against All Odds Celebration Horse (who you’ll get to meet right here on the BreyerFest Blog next week), we’ve been cranking up the girl power tunes here at HQ to get ourselves in the right frame of mind to bring next year’s BreyerFest to life for fans – and we promise it’s going to be a party!

It’s going to be an interesting Breyerfest 2024: from the wild horses, the backyard ponies to the multi million dollar race horses and the people that have come along for the ride; the new stories to be told and the old stories revisited. The hardships that man and horse/pony (mules too), have overcome through the years, life isn’t perfect and it isn’t always easy living life. As the saying goes; when the going gets tuff the tuff get going. I can’t wait to see who Breyer picked for the celebration horse. Kirsty Bullis thanks for mentioning Arlington Park. I just learned this summer that the track was sold a few years ago. It’s going to become a football stadium, so I was told. It is a great loss to the horse industry, the horses, the people.and a life style just memories. I remember the first Arlington Million and the legendary John Henry, it was a great day, I was there.

I volunteer at a non-profit called CORRAL that provides tutoring for girls in risky situations and gives them equine therapy with rescue horses. The horses and the girls are so unique and their stories are so beautiful! I hope Breyer will be able to capture this!

I am so excited for Breyerfest: Against All Odds!! I can hardly wait for the Celebration Horse! I really hop Amberly Snyder could attend in-person this year, but I know with how Power doesn’t like to travel for long periods of time, that may not be possible. I love Amberly’s story and if the horses for Breyerfest this year are anything like Power, I’m sure Breyer will need to have tissues on site. I’m so excited!!!!

Great theme! You should check out the mare, Farletta, aka Follow Me Friend. There are two books about how she helped her owner recover from PTSD and their amazing and inspiring connection. Just search Cheryl Eriksen Follow Me Friend.

I’m SO excited to see who was chosen as the celebration horse, as well as the guest horses! Will we see any repeat guests this year? I would LOVE to see Battlefield Angel (Ezra) and Rhiannon there again. They are such an amazing team!

Can’t wait for the sneak peeks.

I’m so happy to see this finally be recognized. I hope the theme can show how rescued horses from kill pens can become great second chance jumpers, dressage and family horses, from the big plow horses to the Standardbred cart horses discarded and abandoned. And second chance thoroughbreds rescued off the track. As well as owners and riders, like Amberly Snyder. There is a large population of horse lovers who aren’t aware of the slaughter pipeline and I hope that Breyer can bring this to light in a way only Breyer can.
